Terms of Service

Last updated August 3, 2026

01

Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Service are a contract between you and ZEIT ("we", "us"). They cover zeit.finance and its subdomains, and the smart contracts, APIs, and interfaces we publish (together, the "Services").

By using the Services, and especially by investing in a vault, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Services.

02

Who can use ZEIT

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You may not use the Services if you are in a country or region under comprehensive sanctions, or if you are on a sanctions list.

You are responsible for confirming that using ZEIT is legal where you live. The venues our vaults trade on have their own eligibility rules, and those rules also apply to activity routed there.

03

What ZEIT is, and what it is not

ZEIT is software for non-custodial investment vaults on public blockchains. Vaults hold positions in prediction markets and related instruments. Some vaults are built and run by ZEIT; others are run by independent managers or their algorithms.

We are not a bank, broker, exchange, custodian, or investment adviser. Nothing on the Services is investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice. Unit prices, track records, and projections are information, not recommendations or promises.

04

Your wallet and your keys

You use the Services through your own wallet, or through a wallet our embedded provider creates for you. Your keys and sign-in credentials are yours to protect.

Blockchain transactions are final. We cannot reverse them, recover keys we never hold, or restore funds sent to a wrong address.

05

Deposits, units, and withdrawals

You can invest with fiat (card or bank transfer, converted to stablecoins by a payment provider) or directly with crypto. A deposit mints units: ERC-20 tokens that represent your share of the vault.

Deposits settle right away when a vault supports instant deposits, and otherwise in the vault's next daily batch. You exit by redeeming units with the vault at the published unit price, or by selling them like any other token. Withdrawals can take up to several days to settle; each vault states its own timing. Closed vaults stop taking deposits but keep withdrawals open.

06

Fees

Each vault states its fees. A performance fee applies only to new profits, charged when your units reach a new all-time high. There is no deposit fee unless a vault says otherwise.

Trading venues, payment providers, and blockchains charge their own fees and spreads. Those are outside our control and are not refunded by us.

07

Taxes

You are responsible for any taxes that arise from your use of the Services, including from deposits, redemptions, sales of units, and market outcomes. We do not withhold or report taxes for you.

08

The risks you take on

You can lose some or all of the money you invest. Prediction markets can resolve against a vault's positions. Liquidity can thin out. Smart contracts can fail or be exploited. Stablecoins can lose their peg. Blockchains can halt or reorganize. Laws can change.

A vault's past performance does not predict its future. You invest at your own risk, and only you can judge whether these risks fit your situation.

09

What you must not do

When using the Services, you must not:

  • break the law, including money laundering, sanctions evasion, or fraud;
  • attack or interfere with the Services, including exploits, denial of service, or attempts to drain vaults;
  • manipulate markets a vault trades in, including wash trading or oracle manipulation;
  • misrepresent who or where you are to get around eligibility controls;
  • infringe anyone's rights, including ours.

We can restrict or end access to the interface for activity that breaks these rules.

10

Managers

Community vault managers are independent. They are not our employees or agents. We provide the rails, guardrails, and accounting; we do not direct their trading, and we do not guarantee their skill, honesty, or results. A vault's thesis and a manager's profile are the manager's own words.

11

Underlying markets and third-party services

Vaults settle on external venues (currently Polymarket, and not exclusively so going forward) and rely on payment providers, embedded wallet infrastructure, blockchain networks, and data feeds run by others. Each of those services has its own terms, and we are not responsible for how they perform.

12

Intellectual property

The ZEIT name, design, and content belong to us; open-source components keep their own licenses. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Services. Do not imitate our branding or pass the Services off as your own.

13

No warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

14

Limits on our liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost funds resulting from your use of the Services, from the venues and networks the Services rely on, or from events outside our reasonable control.

Our total liability for all claims combined is capped at the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

15

Indemnity

You will defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your use of the Services or your breach of these terms.

16

Disputes and arbitration

If you have a dispute with us, contact us first; most issues can be resolved informally within 60 days.

If informal resolution fails, the dispute is settled by binding arbitration on an individual basis. You waive the right to bring or join a class action against us. Claims that qualify for small-claims court can be brought there instead.

17

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the ZEIT operating entity is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

18

Changes to these terms

We can update these terms. The current version always lives at this page with its date at the top, and we will announce material changes on the Services. Using the Services after a change means you accept the new terms.
